Victor Pilon belongs to the generation of multidisciplinary artists ; he works as an artistic director, director, set designer, visual art designer and photographer, both for the stage and for large-scale public events. After spending 2 years in Europe, he began his studies at the University of Ottawa. He obtained a degree in visual arts with a Major in photography in 1983 and moved to Montreal the following year.

The artworks of Victor Pilon have have been shown in several Canadian galleries, and are included in the collections of the Canada Council Art Bank and the Public Archives of Canada. A book concerning his work was published in 1988.

In 1990, he joined the team at Michel Lemieux Musique Performance as artistic co-director. In 1997, he founded the company 4D art Lemieux/Pilon with Michel Lemieux. The productions of 4D art have toured across Canada, the United States, Europe, South America and Asia. He has also created, with Michel Lemieux, 4 major permanent multimedia exhibits in Canada, 3 of which were produced in collaboration with Design Communication Inc.

His experience as a multidisciplinary artist has allowed him to direct and produce many prestigious multimedia projects in Montreal and in major cities throughout the world.

As a photographer, Victor Pilon has covered more than 31 official visits to Canada by the british royal family. He has also photographed numerous official visits by state leaders for both the Quebec and Canadian governments.
